Meredith Athletics Celebrates National Student Athlete Day and NCAA Division III Week

RALEIGH, N.C. - Meredith College will celebrate National Student Athlete Day Sunday, April 7, in conjunction with NCAA Division III Week. Prior to the start of the final home regular season tennis and softball contests, Athletics Director Jackie Myers will recognize select student-athletes for achieving excellence in academics and athletics, while making significant contributions to the community.

As part of a new Division III identity initiative, the more than 400 member institutions across the United States celebrate student-athletes in April. The Division III experience provides for passionate participation in a competitive athletic environment, in which student-athletes push themselves to excellence and build upon their academic success with new challenges and life skills.

The NCAA Division III logo highlights the three D's unique to the NCAA's largest division: Discover, Develop, Dedicate. Division III student-athletes discover themselves beyond the classroom and field of play, develop into well-rounded adults and dedicate themselves to reaching their potential.

The presentation will begin at 11:45 a.m. between the Meredith softball field and tennis courts.
