Student Athletes Earn End of Year Awards

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College athletic department handed out their awards on Thursday night at the end of year sports banquet. Athletes from all six of Meredith's teams received their awards for academic and athletic excellence.

The Meredith Volleyball team took the award for the highest cumulative grade point average. They ended up with a 3.37 GPA and edged out the cross country team who had a 3.35. Individually, five student athletes gained Vice President Award Honors for perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Another 16 student-athletes gained Athletic Director Awards with a 3.5 or higher and 25 were named to the Academic Honor Roll with a 3.0 and higher. Overall, Meredith student athletes have an average of a 3.09 GPA and over 56% have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
