Eran Artigues

LAGRANGE, Ga. -- Meredith College senior Eran Artigues was named to the USA South Conference Softball All-Tournament team at the conclusion of yesterday's final round. The Avenging Angels went 2-2 in LaGrange, Georgia, last weekend with wins over Averett and Piedmont.

The Maryville Scots defeated Salem College Monday in the Championship series to earn the conference title.

Artigues earned a .375 hitting average with six hits in 16 at-bats during tournament play, including the first round series versus Ferrum in Raleigh. She recorded seven RBI with five walks with three doubles over the six games, starting five as the designated player.

Nearing the end of her four-year collegiate career with the Avenging Angels, Artigues leads Meredith all-time with 72 career walks, ranks in the top-five in home runs, runs batted in, and total bases. She also ranks in the top-10 with 114 hits and 23 doubles throughout her career.

The Angels travel to Pfeiffer University Friday to make-up a doubleheader versus the USA South newcomer before heading to Greensboro Saturday to complete suspended game at Guilford. Follow live action HERE.
