Meredith Basketball Ends Season with 69-61 Loss to Panthers
RALEIGH, N.C. - Back-to-back threes from senior Bryana Holmes capped off a 15-4 Meredith run early in the second half to strip LaGrange of a 17-point advantage and pull the Avenging Angels to within four with 11:26 remaining in regulation. But leading scorer Heather Miller finished with 28 points to lead the Panthers on to a 69-61 conference victory.
Meredith completed the season with four conference wins and eight overall, while LaGrange (15-10, 10-8 USA South) earned the sixth seed in the conference tournament opening next Friday in Fayetteville.
McKenzi Edwards led the Avenging Angels with 16 points, five assists, and Holmes ended her collegiate career with 14, adding four steals. Rah'nika Jones posted 10 points, eight boards, and freshman Laquetta Hairston closed out her rookie season with six points, four steals and a pair of assists.
LaGrange's Katie Covington and Caroline Brashier combined for 24 points in the win.
