    Meredith College basketball scored the last 11 points in Sunday's home game to hold the visiting Pfeiffer Falcons to a 92-69 finish. Kimberly Schuh posted a career- and game-high 25 points, hitting 9-12 from the free throw line.
  • Strong Second Half Closes Gap in Basketball's 73-58 Loss to Pride

    In Saturday's USA South Conference game versus the visiting Greensboro Pride, Meredith College outscored GC 35-30 in the second half to close the gap for a 73-58 loss. The Avenging Angels scored 19 from the free throw line, 10 more than the Pride, to aid in the effort.
  • Quakers Rout Meredith Basketball 63-28 in Home Opener

    The visiting Guilford Quakers handled Meredith College basketball with ease Monday night for a 63-28 victory in the Avenging Angels' home opener. The Angels shot just 16.7 percent from the floor to hand over their fifth loss early this season.
  • Basketball Opens USA South Schedule with 75-52 Loss to Spirits Sunday

    The Meredith College basketball team filed a 75-52 loss to the Salem Spirits in Sunday afternoon's home opener. Chandler Hines and Meghan Pleasants combined for 25 points to lead the Avenging Angels, and Kirstie King logged a team high 12 rebounds.

  • Cowgirls Cruise to 80-51 Victory Over Basketball Angels in Quaker Invitational

    The Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls outmatched the Meredith College basketball team 80-51 in day two of the Guilford Invitational. Kirstie King was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance over the two-day event.
  • Three Basketball Angels Finish with 13 Points in 72-58 Loss to Redhawks

    In day one of the Guilford College Daly Seven Tip-Off Classic, the La Roche Redhawks downed Meredith College 72-58. Three Avenging Angels posted 13 points apiece in the team's second loss of the season Saturday afternoon.
  • Meredith College Student-Athletes Donate Food to Raleigh Rescue Mission

    Efforts from the Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will provide the Raleigh Rescue Mission with more than 1500 items of non-perishable food this holiday season. The Avenging Angels collected the items as part of the USA South SAAC's service initiative Cans Across the Conference, a competition among member schools to effect change in communities across the league's six-state footprint.
  • Pleasants Leads Basketball Angels in Season Opener

    Senior Meghan Pleasants led the Meredith College basketball team with 16 points in a 72-55 loss to the host Randolph Wildcats. The Avenging Angels trailed by just two points in three quarters, but a tough third period spread the gap too much for Meredith to recover.

  • A Tribute to Doc Huber

    Meredith College athletics mourns the loss of longtime softball coach, Dr. Jack "Doc" Huber. A beloved psychology professor, he retired in 2011 after more than 30 years of service to Meredith College. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in Jones Chapel.
  • New Slate of SAAC Officers Readies for the Year

    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) introduced a new slate of officers Wednesday. Senior lacrosse forward Carlee Joseph will lead the group as organization president. Senior volleyball setter Hannah Blaylock will serve as vice-president, and her teammate Haley Reeg, a junior middle blocker, will serve as secretary of the group.
  • New Leadership for Meredith SAAC

    The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be sponsored by two new athletics staff members beginning fall 2017 in Head Softball Coach Kim Scavone and Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Gene Meade. The two look forward to offering fresh perspective to the Avenging Angels in an effort to re-energize the NCAA-driven organization.
  • Online Access Ready for Student-Athlete Forms

    The online portal for new and returning Meredith College student-athletes to complete or update required medical forms is now available. Additionally, new Avenging Angels should complete the student-athlete profile form and register FREE with the NCAA Eligibility Center. The schedule for required ImPact and prescreening testing should also be reviewed.
  • Edwards Assumes Leadership Role with Meredith Sports Medicine

    Meredith College Athletic Director Jackie Myers recently announced the promotion of Rebecca Edwards to interim head athletic trainer. A two-year assistant with the Avenging Angels sports medicine staff, Edwards succeeded Tammy Holleman, who left the college to pursue other opportunities.
  • Expanded USA South Footprint Leads to Adjusted Divisional Structure

    The USA South Athletic Conference welcomed three new members this summer in Berea College, Brevard College, and Pfeiffer University. The expanded footprint resulted in an adjusted divisional format as announced from the conference office early this week.
