Lacrosse Opens League Schedule with 20-0 Shutout Over LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Meredith College lacrosse team cruised past the LaGrange Panthers effortlessly with a 20-0 shutout in Saturday's USA South action. Sophomore standout Katie Burnet scored seven goals in 10 attempts to help her team secure the victory.

The Avenging Angels took control in the first period with a 15-0 halftime lead and steadied the pace in the second stanza to finish the win with class.

Eight members of Meredith's squad scored in today's league game. Rookie Molly Miller led all with five assists, and Victoria Doyle combined with Burnet to record a combined six on the day.

Danielle Lee, Burnet and Doyle led the Meredith defense recording 15 of Meredith's 18 caused turnovers, and Lee tallied seven ground balls in the win.

Meredith goalie Meghan Brooks earned her second win on the season with four saves in four shots on goal in today's shutout.

Panthers Kelsey Griffin and Cheyenne St. Germain led the LaGrange offense with a combined five attempts at the net. Kallie Brook tallied 11 saves in her fourth loss on the season.
