    Track & Field Angels Finish Strong at Braves Classic The Meredith College track & field Angels opened the outdoor season Friday at the UNC-Pembroke Braves Classic under cool and gusty weather conditions. Two Avenging Angels set new all-time performance records, and six new personal records were established, in the program's second year of varsity competition.

    Thomas Ranked Regionally for Sprint Performance Rookie sprinter Essence Thomas ranks in the Division III South/SE Region top-30 performance list of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Her performance in the 60m and 200m sprints in December's JDL Kickoff Indoor Classic place her in 22nd in both events.

    Hatcher Represents Meredith at NCAA Convention Senior tennis player and Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President Laura Anne Hatcher joined 24 other USA South student-athletes last week at the NCAA Convention in Nashville, Tenn. For the first time the conference used NCAA grant funds to send a cohort of athletes to the annual event.

    Indoor Track Angels Perform as Team for First Time Led by freshman Essence Thomas, who represented Meredith as an individual competitor in December, the Meredith College indoor track team traveled to Winston-Salem Saturday for the Wake Forest Invitational to perform as a team for the first time in school history.

    Pepe Returns to Meredith Track & Field with Strength Training Duties Meredith College Athletic Director Jackie Myers announced Monday the return of Jenna Pepe to the athletics staff, now in a full-time role as assistant track & field/head strength & conditioning coach.
