Volleyball Angels Defeat Knights to Remain Undefeated

LAURINBURG, N.C. -- The Meredith College volleyball squad defeated St. Andrew's University 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20) in non-conference action Thursday evening to remain undefeated heading into the weekend. Monday's USA South Rookie of the Week Caroline Corey led the Angels with 13 kills, and Hannah Blaylock dished out 41 assists in the win.

Alex Hafliger and Karlie Long combined for 21 kills, and Elizabeth Pattison added six from the right side. Keegan Lynch led the defensive efforts with a match-high 19 digs, and Hafliger's seven blocks helped hold the Knights to just a .047 hitting percentage.

Angelica Arroyo led St. Andrew's with 18 kills, and Corey Altizer notched 23 assists.

The Avenging Angels remain in Raleigh this weekend to face off with St. Augustine's College and the Guilford Quakers on the campus of William Peace. Meredith opens at Noon in the Hermann Center.
