Brinson Paces Cross Country at Wingate Stampede

WINGATE, N.C. -- The lone NCAA Division III participant in Saturday's Wingate Stampede, the Meredith College cross country Angels placed 10th out of 19 teams with Macy Brinson leading the pack. Brinson finished 38th in the field of 132 runners with time of 25:50.68.

Caroline Diorio outpaced teammate Karen Perez for the first time this season to finish in 27:06.47. Rookie Perez crossed the line 38 seconds later, and Megan Evans followed in just under a minute with a time of 27:06.47.

Freshman Rachel Hill completed her second career race in a time of 28:57.47, and newcomer sophomore Allie Bucknam improved last week's pace with a finish in just under 30 minutes.

Ana Lucia Rodriguez-Salazar and Meredith Wyatt completed the day's runners for the Avenging Angels.

Meredith competes next in two weeks at Christopher Newport to preview November's NCAA South/Southeast Regionals course.
