RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) introduced a new slate of officers Wednesday. Senior lacrosse forward Carlee Joseph will lead the group as organization president. Senior volleyball setter Hannah Blaylock will serve as vice-president, and her teammate Haley Reeg, a junior middle blocker, will serve as secretary of the group.
Student-athletes with interest in filling the open spot of SAAC treasurer are encouraged to reach out to one of the officers or new supervisors Kim Scavone and Gene Meade. Additionally, each sport will designate two-to-three team representatives to serve as members on the committee. Members will help establish goals, sponsor committee projects and activities, and serve as liaison to their teams.
Student-athletes have a voice in the NCAA through advisory committees at the campus, conference, and national level. Each committee is made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on campus. The SAAC also holds primary responsibility for maintaining and coordinating the division's nationwide partnership with Special Olympics.
