RALEIGH, N.C. -- While we welcome spring rains to wash away another layer of pollen, Mother Nature continues to interfere with Senior Day celebrations for Meredith College spring sports. Most recently, Friday's tennis match scheduled at home versus Salem College has been postponed until Tuesday, April 16.
Head Coach Meredith Muempfer and her team will recognize the four-year career of senior Emily Wilkinson prior to the 4 p.m. USA South Conference match. With the top four teams in each division qualifying for the league tournament, every match counts for the Avenging Angels.
Saturday's softball doubleheader versus cross-town rival William Peace remains scheduled for Saturday, April 13. Head Coach Kim Scavone hopes to record as many innings as possible amidst forecasted thunderstorms. In an effort to honor Charley Cox and Rachel Peel, the senior ceremony is planned to take place prior to the first pitch.
MCSB secured a spot in the six-team divisional playoff set to begin Friday, April 19, but must finish the regular season before tournament seeding finalized.
The Avenging Angels lacrosse Senior Day is set for Saturday, April 20, beginning just prior to the Noon match versus the Greensboro Pride.
