Field Miller joined the Meredith College athletics staff in July 2019 as the Head Cross Country / Track & Field Coach.
Miller served the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Pfeiffer University, one of the newest members of the USA South Athletic Conference. During his tenure with the NCAA Division II program, which began a transition to Division III in 2016, Miller coached one Conference Carolinas individual Champion and two DII All-Region selections. During the USA South's first Outdoor Track & Field Conference Championship in 2019, three of Miller's student-athletes earned individual championships, while 17 garnered All-Conference honors as medal winners in their events.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Miller spent seven years at Central Academy of Technology and Arts. He directed three cross country teams to Regional titles with one State Runner-Up, and two individual Regional Champions. He was named Rocky River Coach of the Year on five occasions.
His indoor track & field teams garnered four individual State Championships with 22 state qualifiers. And the Central Academy outdoor program earned four individual state titles, nine regional championships with 14 conference champions and 68 regional qualifiers.
Miller competed as a distance runner at NCAA Division I WCU in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track & field. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Western Carolina University with a minor in Sport Management and went on to earn a master's in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine in California.
