    Meredith College Head Golf Coach Jimmy Hamilton was named one of the top-10 best instructors in North Carolina by Golf Digest, as voted on by his peers. He earned the same recognition between the years of 2003 and 2006.

    As part of the USA South's Cans Across the Conference competition, the Meredith College Avenging Angels collected 1,150 non-perishable food items and donated to the Raleigh Rescue Mission. With 18 member institutions, the league presented 69,387 items to local organizations across the wide footprint of the conference.

    The East second-seed Meredith College Avenging Angels fell 3-1 (12-25, 20-25, 25-20, 17-25) to the West Division top-seed Maryville Scots in Friday's first semifinal pairing of the USA South Volleyball Tournament. Down 2-0 MCVB won the third to force another frame, but the Scots outlasted the Angels for a win.

    Meredith College volleyball's standout defender Lauren Phillips garnered the 2019 USA South Libero of the Year honor and joined two teammates as All-Conference honorees. Caroline Corey garnered her fourth selection to the All-USA South first team, and both were joined by Cathy Delano on the All-East first team. Lauren Grodi represented MCVB as the All-Sportsmanship selection.

    Meredith College Athletic Director Jackie Myers announced the addition of Courtney Hexter to the Avenging Angels athletics staff. Hexter will direct the college's new field hockey program as Meredith's 10th varsity sport set to begin competition in fall 2020.
  • Volleyball Heads to Semifinals on 3-1 Win Over Rival Pacers

    The East Division second-seed Meredith College Avenging Angels downed third-seed William Peace 3-1 (21-25, 29-27, 25-21, 25-14) in a classic battle of the Raleigh rivals to advance to the USA South Conference Volleyball Tournament semifinals. Hailey Long and Caroline Corey combined for 32 kills, and Bailey Lucas distributed 28 assists to lead the Angels to their next match.

She and her team will host early rounds of tournament action tomorrow night beginning at 5 p.m. in Weatherspoon Gym in an effort to defend their 2018 title.
