    The USA South's East Division leader N.C. Wesleyan maintained their status with a pair of wins over Meredith College Saturday afternoon. Catcher Bryce Smith led the Angels with a pair of hits and two-RBIs.

    Madison Hamilton led the Meredith College softball team in Saturday's split versus USA South member Piedmont College. MCSB claimed game one 5-4 before falling to the Lions 10-2 in the nightcap.

    The Meredith College softball team dropped both games in Thursday's final day of the Florida series. The Thomas More Saints handled MCSB 8-2, and the Wooster Fighting Scots edged Meredith 2-1.

    The Meredith College softball team opened spring break with a split in day-one action of The Spring Games. Starting with a 4-0 victory over Salve Regina, the Avenging Angels lost 5-2 to the Arcadia Knights.
  • Young Angels Squad Shows Promise Versus #8 Captains

    Thursday afternoon, the young Meredith College Avenging Angels hosted their second nationally ranked team in the eighth-ranked Christopher Newport Captains. CNU swept the Angels with a six-inning 13-4 win in game one, followed by a 3-0 victory to cap off the doubleheader.
  • Softball Drops Two to Quakers

    After a nearly two and one half week break from competition due to rainy weather, Meredith College returned to action Tuesday afternoon in a makeup with the Guilford Quakers. Guilford won the first 12-4 in five innings and slipped past the Angels in game two for an 8-3 victory.

  • Tough Opening Day for Softball Angels

    The Meredith College softball Angels opened the season Friday facing a tough opponent in two-time defending national champion Virginia Wesleyan University. The Marlins posted a pair of five-inning wins over Meredith with a 15-0 score in game one and a 9-0 tally to close out the day.
  • Spring Season Opens with Schedule Changes

    Meredith tennis will host Barton College Thursday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. instead of earlier in the week. And softball will host two-time defending national champion Virginia Wesleyan Friday at 1 p.m. for the first doubleheader of the season for both teams.
  • Softball Receives First Place Vote; Selected Fourth in Preseason Poll

    The Meredith College softball Angels received one first place vote and 42 points to fall fourth in the USA South East Division Preseason Coaches Poll as released Wednesday from the conference office. Pfeiffer University was tabbed as the East's favorite with Salem in second and N.C. Wesleyan third. Last year's tournament champion Maryville College was selected as the top program in the West.

  • Softball's Scavone Elevated to Full Time

    Longtime Meredith College Head Softball Coach Kim Scavone was recently elevated to full-time status within the athletics program. Three head coach positions remain part time with the college, and Athletic Director Jackie Myers has hopes of the college moving all three positions to full-time sometime during her tenure.
