CONWAY, S.C. -- The Meredith College Avenging Angels faced off with NCAA Division I Coastal Carolina in an exhibition game Wednesday evening. Kimberly Schuh matched Chanticleer Caitlin Roche with a game high 18 points.
Coastal set the pace of the game early on with a quick five-point run and put together a triple-digit final score on 60.7 percent shooting from the floor. Meredith held their own at the free throw line, shooting 68.8 percent alongside the hosts. But the Angels struggled to put together an offensive run throughout the forty minutes of play.
Schuh drained two at the free throw line to put the Angels on the board at 8:18, and Kirstie King found Schuh inside for a layup four minutes later. Caroline Coleman drained a three-pointer from the hands of Madison Gladwell. Coleman would find her range once more in the second quarter recording 11 points on the night.
Schuh tallied nine rebounds for the Angels, and Trinity Packer grabbed four before being disqualified with two minutes remaining in the game. King dished out three assists and finished with two points in the loss.
MCBB will take a break from the action to manage final exams through the next week. The team next travels to Guildford College Friday, Dec. 14, before hosting Mary Baldwin Saturday at home.
