WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Kimberly Schuh led the MCBB Angels in their third consecutive victory, and fourth in the last five, with a 55-41 finish at Salem College Saturday afternoon. After a sluggish start, Meredith College regrouped to down the Spirits with ease.
With just four points on the scoreboard at the end of the first period, Meredith trailed by just two at the half. But a breakout third quarter placed the Avenging Angels comfortably in the lead 40-22. Schuh closed out the day hitting five-of-five from the field and both attempts at the line to nearly double her points scored through the first 30 minutes. And Meredith walked away with another win.
Schuh led the game with 25 points, adding 10 rebounds. After missing all 11 attempts from beyond the in the win over William Peace earlier in the week, Meredith shooters found their rhythm again today, hitting five three-pointers. Brittany Preston drained two, with Schuh, Madison Gladwell, and Caroline Coleman good for one apiece. Gladwell and Trinity Packer combined for 13 rebounds, with Gladwell and Coleman picking up three steals each in the win.
Salem's Lauren Privette led the game with 12 rebounds, adding 10 points.
