RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College basketball standout Kimberly Schuh and rookie Caroline Coleman were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference. Schuh was selected to the All-Conference and All-East first teams and Coleman named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Just in her sophomore year with the Avenging Angels athletics program, Schuh has already redefined history. The league's 2018 Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year and first for Meredith, Schuh added two more honors to her resume. She completed her season leading the USA South in points per game, points, field goals, free throws, and minutes per game. Schuh helped this year's squad rebound to a 7-19 overall finish and 7-9 in the conference after opening the season 1-14. She posted 11 double-doubles this season with points-rebounds, and scored a career-high 48 points on 60.0 percent shooting from the field in early January.
Coleman established herself as an offensive threat early on in her freshman season and closed out the year ranked fourth among USA South players shooting 38.4 percent from beyond the arc. She knocked down 48 threes, good for a tie for seventh in the conference. Coleman's 9.2 points per game placed her second at Meredith, and she finished with 71 assists and 37 steals on the year.
