MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- En route to their sixth consecutive win, the Meredith College lacrosse squad cruised to a 23-4 victory at Huntingdon in Sunday's USA South action. Katie Burnet notched seven total points, including five goals in six shots, to lead the Angels in the win.
The Avenging Angels controlled today's contest scoring the first 10 goals in just 11 minutes. In the 17th minute Huntingdon recovered a wide attempt at the net from Meredith, and Ariana Kelty finished the play on the offensive end. The hosts would score once more before the half leaving the Angels with a 13-point advantage.
MC Lax returned to the field after the break to continue the effort with six Avenging Angels finding the net. The balanced offense found a dozen Angels with a point in the match.
Katie Sills recorded her ninth win on the season with one save in 60 minutes played, and Victoria Krupa posted the loss with eight saves for the Hawks.
Meredith hosts the Elmhurst Bluejays from Illinois in a 4 p.m. event Thursday afternoon followed by a battle with USA South foe Methodist the following week on Senior Night.
