Hite/Flake earn League Honor; Angels Garner Fourth Championship

Holly Hite and Maya Flake earn USA South weekly awards

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College lacrosse standouts Holly Hite and Maya Flake earned recognition in Monday's USA South Weekly Awards. The Avenging Angels secured the program's fourth league Regular Season Championship this weekend.

Hite collected her second weekly honor this season and sixth over her four year career as the USA South Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year. In a 2-0 week Hite led both matches with draw controls recording 15 versus Brevard and 10 in the win over Piedmont. She also tallied four caused turnovers and three ground balls to go along with six goals, one assist.

Flake earned her first career nod from the USA South as this week's Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week. Flake leads the conference with 37 assists this season and ranks seventh in goals among Avenging Angels. She tallied six points in a win over Brevard and four versus Piedmont. Flake notched a pair of ground balls, one draw, and caused one turnover on the week.

Head Coach Lauren Scott, her staff, and team will honor six players Saturday prior to Meredith's final home contest with the first draw slated for Noon versus the Greensboro Pride.
