Hite/Arbes Earn USA South Weekly Nod

Holly Hite and Sarah Arbes earn USA South Women's Lacrosse Weekly Award

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College lacrosse seniors Sarah Arbes and Holly Hite collected their final USA South Women's Lacrosse weekly awards as announced Monday from the conference office. Hite was named Player of the Week and Arbes Defensive Player of the Week as the Avenging Angels posted a 2-0 week last week versus a pair of league opponents.

This week's honor marks the third for Hite this season and seventh during her four-year career. Hite totaled nine points on seven goals and two assists with 28 draw controls, six caused turnovers, and five ground balls for the Avenging Angels. She ranks first in the league with 189 draw controls this season, second with 80 goals, and sixth with 34 caused turnovers.

Arbes earned her fourth weekly defensive honor this spring and fifth during her Meredith career. She totaled 13 draw controls, seven caused turnovers, and seven ground balls to go along with one goal and two assists for MC Lax. Arbes ranks second this spring among USA South players with 42 caused turnovers, sixth with 82 draw controls, and 12th with 47 ground balls.

Meredith heads to LaGrange, Georgia, this weekend on the hunt for the program's sixth USA South Conference Tournament Championship. Action is slated for 11 a.m. Friday April 26, at Callaway Stadium.
