Soccer Angels Clinch USA South East Division on Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College soccer team clinched the program's third consecutive title as the USA South East Division Champions. Head Coach Paul Smith and his staff honored seniors Meghan Ingram, Ellice Johnson, Meredith McCarty, Nicole Miller, and Brooke Verburg at halftime of the 14-0 victory over visiting Mary Baldwin.

The Avenging Angels won seven consecutive matches to close out the regular season and move up the East Division rankings for another crown.

Cassie Padilla opened the scoring in today's victory off a pass from Ingram. Ingram would go on to record two more assists and one goal. Hannah Elvington led the day with three goals, two assists, with Jessica Wallace and Kayla Boudreau scoring two goals apiece.

The Avenging Angels return to their home turf Saturday, Oct. 29 as host of an East Division quarterfinal pairing. Meredith will play the winner of the #4/#5 match set to be played Wednesday, Oct. 26. First kick is slated for 3 p.m.
