RALEIGH, N.C. -- A disciplined Pfeiffer squad captured a 2-1 win over the host Meredith College Angels in the second 10-minute extra period Friday evening. Celvy Kofsky scored her first career goal in the loss.

The Falcons controlled the offense much of the game with 20 shots in regulation to just five from Meredith. Rookie Dayanna Riera recorded five to lead the match, and teammates Madeline Capel and Cayci Eaton notched four apiece, each scoring a goal for PU. Two of Capel's were near misses just wide of the net.

Six Avenging Angels took a strike at the net, including Katie Quinn who earned the assist on Kofsky's score. Rookie Annah Bishop and new transfer Ansley Bucknam joined Jessica Wallace with one apiece, and Kirstie King flew one high on a free kick from 45 yards out.

Kat Pike stayed busy in the net for the Angels and fought hard for a battle close to the box with Rivera to force the extra minutes. She recorded 11 saves in her second loss on the season. Pfieffer's Kayley Hyatt tallied one save for the Falcons in her fourth win this fall.

Meredith opens a four-game road series Sunday with a trip to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to face off with the Mary Washington Eagles. Follow the live action HERE.
