King and Bishop earn USA South honors

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Meredith College student-athletes Kirstie King and Annah Bishop were recognized with USA South Women's Soccer end-of-season honors as announced Friday from the league office.

King collected her fourth All-Conference honor as a member of the East Division first team for the second consecutive year. A four-year defender for the Avenging Angels, King has played a vital role in the program's success. She started in all 73 career games played and ranks third all-time at Meredith in total minutes.

Bishop began her collegiate career this fall as a Meredith defender and battles her opponents on the wing. She started in all 16 games thus far this season.

Meredith posted a 6-7-3 record overall, including an overtime draw in Wednesday night's tournament victory over Averett University. The East fifth-seed Angels advanced on penalty kicks to Saturday's quarterfinal versus the West's top-seed Maryville Scots.
