Tennis Angels Secure Invite to USA South Tournament with 9-0 Win at Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College tennis program secured an invite to the USA South Women's Tennis Tournament Monday afternoon with a 9-0 victory at William Peace. Tournament seeding will be determined later in the week once the conference regular season completes.

The top-four teams in each division at the close of the regular season advance to the tournament in LaGrange, Georgia, as part of the Spring Festival. Matches will be played at the LaGrange College Tennis Courts and the McCluskey Tennis Center beginning Thursday, April 13.

In today's match Cailin Goff and Jacqueline Benton paired together for an 8-0 sweep in their third consecutive victory, and Emily Wilkinson and Alice Cox Horton won their second match together with an 8-2 finish.

Laura Anne Hatcher returned to singles play with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the second spot. Kassidy Pitchford played No. 5 singles for the first time this season and recorded a 6-2, 6-0 victory.

The Avenging Angels wrap up the regular season Thursday at Averett with conference tournament pairings determined after the weekend league action concludes.
