MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- Meredith College claimed their second consecutive USA South victory with a 6-3 finish over the Pfeiffer Falcon women's tennis team.

The Avenging Angels trailed Pfeiffer 2-1 heading into singles with a lone 8-1 win on court two for Aly Henneberry and Brittney Brown, the third victory for the pair this spring.

But Meredith battled through singles play to claim the victory. Natalie Collins fought through a tiebreaker finish to claim her first singles win on the season. Collins won the first set 6-4, but Anna Branson responded with a 6-3 second set to force a split.

Brown shutout out Darby Sherrill in a 6-0, 6-0 victory on court three, and Henneberry gave up just one game in each of her two sets versus Sydney Gray at no. 2. Alexandra Cheney posted a 6-2, 6-1 win versus Haylee Dixon at no. 5. Logan King came back from a set one loss to win a tiebreaker in her second set and finished off Sydney Honeycutt 6-4 for her third USA South win.

The Avenging Angels are slated to host William Peace Monday evening in a league pairing before hosting the USA South's East Division leader N.C. Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon.
