Rams Down Angels 7-2

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The visiting NCAA Division II Winston-Salem State University Rams downed the Meredith College women's tennis team 7-2 in Tuesday's final regular season pairing. Meredith claimed one doubles and one singles match on the day.

The Avenging Angels court one pair of Aly Henneberry and Brittney Brown defeated China Brown and Kyrsten Jennelle 8-3. But Meredith lost court two with the same score to enter singles play down 2-1.

Logan King secured Meredith's next and final point with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kyra Akande on court five. Brown closed out the match with a hard fought set three tiebreaker pushed to a 9-11 finish in favor of her opponent Avion Harris.

The Avenging Angels travel to LaGrange, Georgia, for USA South Tournament round one action. The East Division fourth-seed Angels are slated to face off with the West's top-seed Piedmont Lions at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 26.
