MYRTLE BEACH, N.C. -- In the two-day Coastal Carolina Invitational, the Meredith College track & field team scored a host of personal records to advance the three-year program. In the college's first 4x800m relay Megan Evans, Allie Bucknam, Macy Brinson, and Rachel Hill set the Avenging Angels standard with a time of 10:57.12.
Brinson and Karen Perez posted new one-two Meredith records in the 3,000m run with times of 11:48.91 and 12:12.34, respectively.
Each member of the throwing team increased their personal bests with Demonica Stanley leading the way in the shot put. Alex Hafliger improved her record by 0.23m and Kimberly Schuh by 0.14m. Trinity Parker competed for the first time in the event this season with a distance of 8.87m. Hafliger and Taylor Wilson each significantly improved on their distance in the javelin with 2.20m and 3.34m, respectively.
Sprinter Essence Thomas raced the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes today and established a season best in each.
The Avenging Angels travel to Mount Olive, North Carolina, in two weeks for the Trojan Challenge at the Ray McDonald, Sr., Track and Field/Lacrosse Complex at UMO.
