Track & Field Angels Open the Indoor Season Strong

Meredith track team prepares for opening meet

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Meredith track & field Avenging Angels opened the 2018-2019 indoor season Saturday at the JDL College Kick-Off Classic. The Avenging Angels competed strong versus a full slate of Division I and II athletes.

Rookie Victoria Goin launched her collegiate career with personal best performances in the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. And Emma Travis recorded a new personal best in the 3,000 meter race with a time of 12:26.62.

Megan Evans, Rachel Hill, and Meredith Wyatt ran the 800 meter race for Meredith, and Macy Brinson stepped up for the Angels in the mile with a top-10 finish.

Demonica Stanley represented the Avenging Angels in field events, competing in shot put and long jump. She posted a 9.33m toss and recorded a long jump of 4.41m.

Meredith will compete next in the New Year opening 2019, again at the JDL Indoor Complex, on January 13.
