Avenging Angels Cruise Past Panther Volleyball 3-0

FERRUM, Va. - The Meredith College volleyball team cruised past Ferrum College in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-11, 25-8) USA South road victory Wednesday evening. Led by Karlie Long's 13 kills, the Avenging Angels hit .565 on the night to secure the win.

Meredith controlled the match with stellar hitting, including just three attack errors on the night.

Molly Markley tallied eight kills in just 10 attempts, while Katelyn Rall and Jessica Goodwin combined for 13. To aid the offensive efforts, setters Anna Hayes and Clarke Glendenning dished out 19 and 12 assists on the night.

Defensively, Meredith's Hayes tallied nine digs and rookie libero added eight. Jasmine Aguinaldo, April Hausler and Rall fought for two blocks apiece to lead the frontline.

Molly Bunton contributed a match-high three service aces to help push MC past the Panthers.

Ferrum struggled at the line much of the night, posting 22 errors with just 14 kills. Emily Danner distributed a dozen assists in the loss.

The Avenging Angels travel to new league member Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama for a conference quad match Saturday. Meredith faces the hosts at Noon (CST) and LaGrange at 2 p.m. (CST).
