MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Meredith College volleyball team claimed a pair of wins at Saturday's USA South Play Day in Montgomery, Ala. Caroline Corey led the Angels with 11 kills in a 3-0 win over league newcomer Agnes Scott College, and Karlie Long tallied 9 in a 3-0 victory over the host Huntingdon Hawks for the sweep.
Meredith recorded a team hitting percentage of at least .400 in each of the sets versus the Scotties to dominate the attack, and Hannah Blaylock notched 33 assists as a result. Blaylock also recorded a match-high 11 digs.
Haley Reeg recorded an impressive seven-of-eight attempts to reach an 87.5 percent hitting average in match one and added eight more kills versus the Hawks.
The Avenging Angels remain in the West division for a conference Play Day Sunday afternoon at LaGrange. Meredith will face off with Piedmont at 2 p.m. followed by the host Hawks at 4 p.m. Both matches will be available via live stream HERE.
