RALEIGH, N.C. -- Junior outside hitter Caroline Corey was named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association's 2018 College Division All-State Women's Volleyball second team. She was one of 14 players who received the recognition and the only one representing NCAA Division III.
Corey led a successful volleyball squad that captured Meredith's second USA South Conference Tournament Championship, as well as a second regular season title with a share of the East Division crown. The Avenging Angels earned the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament and faced off with the eventual national champion Emory Eagles in first round play.
Corey closed out the season ranked tied for first in the conference averaging 4.2 points per set, second with 3.56 kills per set, tied for second with 397.0 total points, and third with 335 total kills. She led MCVB to the program's eighth season with 20+ wins and fifth for Head Coach Fiona Barkley.
