RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Meredith College volleyball team returns to the court August 30 and will work to defend their USA South Tournament Championship title this fall. Head Coach Fiona Barkley must fill just one gap in the starting lineup with the May graduation of middle blocker Haley Reeg, '19.
The 2018 Coach of the Year, along with outside hitter and last year's league Player of the Year Caroline Corey, will lead an otherwise veteran squad beginning opening weekend at the Route 42 Classic hosted by Eastern Mennonite and Bridgewater August 30-31. The Avenging Angels travel to the Washington & Lee Tournament the next weekend and to Marymount September 13-14. After an individual pairing at Roanoke September 20, the Avenging Angels finally host their home and USA South opener on the 25th versus conference rival Averett University.
Back-to-back league play days follow with the second at home with Methodist and Mary Baldwin. Meredith will wrap up the regular season at home November 1 versus Salem before heading into conference tournament action.
